Lensen brings innovative interior experience to Argos nursing home Klepperwei In October 2023, nursing home Klepperwei opened in a serene green setting on a picturesque pond. ‘Argos’ philosophy - a life with colour - is the essence for the interior design,' says Karen Textor, account manager at Lensen. The team sensed Argos' wishes regarding the Klepperwei particularly well. The delegation was therefore unanimous in its choice of this project designer. Connection between man and nature The relaxed, natural atmosphere experienced outside is reflected in the interior. Patty Meesters, designer at deStudio van Lensen is responsible for the concept: ‘Through design principles such as “aqua wellness”, “memory care” and “rest- noise- reuring” in the “Reflection” theme, we elaborate on the architect's basis and make the connection between man and nature, past and present. Central to the interior design are the calming, relaxing properties of water and the comfort of nature, complemented by the most beautiful colours and special design language. The concept translates into personal living rooms, specific customisation, an atmospheric (be)living kitchen as a warm heart in the space and dining and meeting areas where flexibility or lounging are central.' Brasserie as a meeting place The brasserie where relatives of residents can meet is cosily decorated with a fireplace and, according to Karen, the most beautiful part of Klepperwei. 'I am particularly proud of this overall project. The brasserie shows diversity in seating options, materials and design language. The different zones offer privacy, security and atmosphere. The residents, visitors and staff have all been thought of. A story in which old and new are interwoven and everyone finds a piece of recognition. A space that invites meeting and conversation. The statement piece: the letterbox wall full of vintage items that stimulates the senses and evokes nostalgic memories, offers recognition'. Collaboration with Lensen and Partners Lensen, responsible for the concept vision and styling, together with Argos, transformed Klepperwei into a pleasant working and living environment. Close cooperation as partners is essential to achieve such a successful outcome. The project group formed by account and project managers from Lensen and Nick Visser, Argos new building project manager, closely monitored the set-up process. Nick: ‘Lensen created a fresh and modern interior that suits our target group very well. The flexibility and short lines of communication made working with Lensen very pleasant.'
