A revitalisation of the Aan de Bleek care centre to be able to (continue to) provide customised care in the future, which will become increasingly intensive. The starting point was to create the multifunctional core facility for care and welfare for Schinveld and the surrounding area, where functionality and appearance would go hand in hand by applying the most innovative care instruments without creating an A-typical care look. In the central meeting place on the ground floor, various themes bring ‘outside’ inside. A major challenge was to bring unity to the building: where previously the ground floor in particular consisted of various separate areas, it has been transformed into one large space: a village square surrounded by various themes from the surroundings such as the ‘Schinveldse Bossen’, the ‘Roode Beek’ and ‘Nonke Buusjke’. Clients who live at Aan de Bleek benefit from a low-stimulation environment. Warmth and diversity have been created by choosing different materials and structures such as PVC floors with wood and stone motifs as well as removable fabrics with a soft feel.
