Homely environment The best possible care for mother and child, that was the main aim of VieCuri Medical Centre in Venlo. The inauguration of the new Birth Centre on 2 June 2015 marks a major step towards optimising this care together with first-line midwives and maternity care organisations. The Birth Centre is located on the second and third floors of the striking building attached to VieCuri's Emergency Department. In the Birth Centre, Family Centered Care is central: everything is aimed at creating a homely and intimate atmosphere around and for the young family. In the maternity suite, mother, child and partner stay in their own room during childbirth, which is quiet and homely. The suites have their own sanitary facilities and medical equipment is kept to a minimum. This is pushed in as needed. In the suites, parents can make their own coffee and tea, receive visitors and spread a rusk.
