The preferences of the Indian and Moluccan residents played a prominent role in the interior design. Their culture is reflected in the interior experience. At Rumah Kita, reception represents a warm welcome. The traditional reception desk has been replaced by a tasteful coffee counter. Where previously the receptionist mainly did her work sitting down, she now speaks to the guests. Clearly recognisable as a hostess and trained as a real barista by Douwe Egberts, a cup of coffee here is an art.
